You have some good content here. I hope you won't make a regular habit of going crazy with color. It makes the text much less readable. Thanks.

Thanks for your commitment to accountability of our public officials. If you started a counter for every promise you will never lack for content.

thanx and you might be right about the color content. we try to take into that into account when we post, but sometimes we shuffle the posts around according to what seems important and all that theory just goes out the window.

well, i guess i'm from the old school hugh. a promise is just what it implies. i'm not sure why the alderman decided not to include this simple notification procedure from the initiatives he posted on the website?

timely notification is at the core of open process.

I noticed the zoning meeting notes are on the site now- which were not before but I agree Meetings should be posted as well. Keep up the good work!

rpneighbor-

there are some definite improvements and the zoning minutes are a big surprise and welcome insight into meetings that we cannot participate in.

thanx for the encouragement, rebbeca and i appreciate it alot.

I can't believe that we have to harass and hassle and publicly shame the Alderman and his office into 1) posting meeting minutes; 2) posting adequate notice of meetings so that people can actually attend. This is like having to beg the post office to deliver mail. It's now beyond absurd, riduculous, or anything like excusable. It's shameful. If I behaved similarly in my job I'd be fired, with cause (no severance, no unemployment). Joe is raking in almost 6 figures, not including benefits and perks. And we have to bleeping beg to get modern notice of meetings??????

pamela-

i started writing another letter yesterday morning and then i pulled up the exchange from january. i don't think there is any more i can say or want to, for that matter.

i try and be respectful and reasonable in my correspondence with the alderman because i believe it's the right approach. but, honestly, i've reached my threshold on this, the simplest of issues to correct.

my belief in this Timely Notification concept is unshakeable. i think most of us feel that way. i've simply run out of words and patience at this point.

well, my sense is, this issue is going to follow the alderman right through to next year.the risk/ reward ratio doesn't seem to favor his position on this issue, imho.

Reading this blog (the camaradarie! the neighborhood!) kinda makes me wish I lived in Rogers Park. Though I did once date someone from Rogers Park. That's gotta count for something, right?

The Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee will not meet in March.
The next Committee meeting is
Tuesday, April 11th, 7:00 p.m.

this is posted at the bottom of the ZALUC page so i guess the answer is, no meeting until april 11.

apparently, there is a meeting this week on greenleaf for a new development, according to the hellhole.
