AIMCO &
Corcoran Jennison
Companies
A Study in Contrasts

paradise,
the person who gave me this information is a long time noh neighbor and concerned resident of our neighborhood. in the months prior to the renewal of the aimco contract renewal three years ago, this neighbor was in contact with the dedicated founder of this company. they had many long discussions by telephone.

the description and conditions of noh were explained in great detail. the conclusion was reached, by mr. corcoran, was that noh was a neighborhood that would be of great interest to him and his company. he expressed a realistic enthusiasm for a possible solution based on his 25 year experience with building and maintaining mixed income, mixed rental and ownership and mixed ethnic solutions.

most of his projects are on the east coast. his company was looking to expand their vision and chicago was a city he considered a place where his vision and experience could take hold. in fact, he was contacted by city officials in relation to the cha properties prior to the decision to demolish them. i do not know the extent of those discussions.

his concept is management intensive and over the years, his approach has been perfected in this regard, unlike the absentee slumlord practices that affect these buildings today.

i have an article he wrote, that you can read that will further an understanding of his success and dedication. this is not a pie in the sky hope. i have written many times in the past about this company and the possibility of it's approach. i have asked this neighbor to contact mr. corcoran again.
