New Aldermanic Candidate

Chris Adams
A six year resident of Rogers Park, Chris Adams will bring a strong commitment to accountability to the Chicago City Council, while he helps build the vision of a growing, progressive 49th Ward.

By working directly with.....
School officials to help improve education options....

Public safety officials to create a safer community.....

Business owners and entrepeneurs to build a viable and vibrant commercial district.....

Chris Adams will help move the 49th Ward in the positive direction already taken by its immediate neighbors such as Evanston, Lincolnwood, and the 50th and 48th Wards.

Chris Adams would serve as an independent alderman.

Note: Above excerpts are from press release. According to a campaign spokesperson, Friends of Chris Adams held a Kickoff Fundraiser last night at My Pie restaurant, 2417 North Clark Street.

Hi Gar,

yeah, it's getting a little crowded. at least there are some new faces this time around.

I'll take the overs on that.

Now why would someone running for alderman of the 49th have a fundraiser in Lincoln Park?

hey pamela-

seems like a valid question to me. there are some good new restaurants in rp. if you have a taste for thai, Grande on clark is terrific. we do take out from there and the service is always prompt and the main courses and appetizers are really good. friends of ours give the new restaurant that took over Tai Pan on devon really high marks too.

Love Grande noodles! Had take out from there last night -- spring roll, steamed pot stickers, and sushi. Their spicy salmon maki is sooo good.

pamela-

don't know about you, but when we find the need to order takeout, we never feel very adventurous and always end up ordering what we know we like. from Grande that order is always chicken sate, pot stickers, spring roll, beef salad and pod woon sen. we like the leftovers too.

how did you come across that restaurant because they are having a little difficulty in that location developing a sit down business, especially for lunch? it's hard to gain a consistent take out clientele if there aren't too many people eating at the restaurant.

we like to support them as much as we can because we have so few restaurant alternatives up here.

Gary -- discovered the Grande Noodles two ways: 1) drove by it; 2) neighbor mentioned it. So we started ordering. We tend not to go out a lot but love to do take out; hopefully Grande has a good take out biz. I know a number of people who order from them. Hope they are able to survive, and will be sure to refer others to them frequently and often.

chris-

welcome, good luck and thanx for taking the time to comment.

the issue you raise with your question gets debated every so often and there are lots of opinions. i guess i'm just curious now, what your thoughts on the matter are.

been there done that-

it is a great restaurant. i used to eat there a lot when i lived in that area. thanx for the spell check.

although the restaurant is doing well where it is, selfishly speaking, i'm sorry they moved from sheridan. that area and rp in general, could use more restaurant alternatives.
